The Department of Obstetrical and Gynaecological Nursing provides quality teaching and offers best learning experience for learners. It provides courses in Obstetrical and Gynaecological nursing with theoretical and practical components to undergraduate and postgraduate students and mould them with essential skills and knowledge to deliver inclusive maternal and neonatal care. The department promotes research in the prime areas of women’s reproductive health by staff with experience and doctoral qualification. We offer effective and proficient amenities to our students to empower them to serve as educators, managers and researchers in the field of maternity nursing. The Central competences are inclusive nursing care to women in pregnancy and childbirth, integrated learning of theory and practice, evidence-based clinical learning, development of interactive skills and professionalism.

The OBG Lab ensures effective and efficient services to our student community and enable them to function as educators, managers and researchers in the field of maternity nursing. The Lab is well equipped with Birthing Simulators, Pelvis, Fetal Skull, Various Obstetrical Instruments, different kinds of Models etc. The stages of Labour is demonstrated to the students with the help of Birth Demo model. The lab provides students with a realistic, simulated clinical environment to practice and demonstrate competency of selected obstetric skills. These help the students to acquire Knowledge & skill in mother & New born care that are to be practiced in clinical settings.

This is set up with the view to enable the students to provide comprehensive care to Mothers and Neonates. The lab is equipped with supplies and equipment as well as practice manikins, pregnancy manikin, pelvis, and skull model. The lab provides ample opportunity for students to practice and demonstrate competency in nursing skills.

Students are trained in Advanced procedures and skills related to the specialty. This lab consists of cot with mattress, charts, mannequins, delivery model, instruments & articles necessary for midwifery procedure demonstration.

The OBG nursing skills lab at the nursing college provides nursing students with an additional learning resource to meet their educational goals. The lab is equipped with equipment, as well as practice manikins including Full body Pregnancy Simulator, obstetric manikin, pelvic models, as well as high fidelity childbirth simulator. The lab provides students with a realistic, simulated clinical environment to practice and demonstrate competency of selected nursing skills. Open lab times are posted at the beginning of each semester.
